Calis Tynahra
Calis was born on Ryvellia to parents who were killed by Imperial attack when she was sixteen. She grew up hating the Empire and became an aide to the Ryvellian Ambassador to the Senate, but was removed from the position after loudly voicing her resentment for the Empire in a senatorial meeting.
Later, Calis discovered the commander of the assault that killed her parents years before now served in the Senate as chief military commander of the Empire and she plotted an assassination attempt on his life, in which during the attempt, she is discovered by Vader unknowingly using rudimentary force powers to aid her attempt.
Calis is sentenced to hard labour at the Kessel Spice Mines, but never serves a day of her sentence as Vader drafts her into his service to develop her force abilities. Reluctantly, she accepts, only because it is a better option than facing imprisonment.
There she meets Ruan. During the year of training Calis spent under Lord Vader, Calis and Ruan developed a close romantic relationship. Calis realized the purpose of her life and her training was taking an undesirable turn after discovering she and Ruan had, during the course of their training, been subjected to certain experiments without their consent. After more than a year of training, Ruan and Calis, both in a similar state of disillusionment, decide to flee Vader and the Empire.
